Goodbye big island of hawaii

We’ve been here for 13 years. Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye. With the pandemic hitting everyone and all of the tourism pretty much came to a halt on the island for 2020 after March. And as a freelance photographer that is not good.

So with a lot of late night discussions between my wife and family, we decided it was time to head back to California. Healdsburg exactly, in Sonoma County. Not a bad place to land. Believe me, I am not complaining.

We have a lot of family and friends here too, so we’re off to a good start, and that means transferring everything over for my business. I feel good about this though, but I’ll tell you the truth, I came kicking and screaming all the way here. But I figure I can always head over for a little vacation with all the friends and family that I have there.

Sherrier Wedding - Redondo Beach, CA

When two of your closest friends who you’ve known pretty much my whole life are getting married and they call you to ask for a favor, even if you’re 2,500 miles away, you jump at it. In this case I didn’t have to do anything but to shoot the rehearsal, pre-wedding, the actual wedding and the post. No pressure right? I can’t even tell you how stressed I was. I just wanted to get it right. I think everything worked out though in the end. Plus it was a great time all the way around for the week I was in town seeing old friends and visiting family as well.
